{IBS} Always Remember Frame

Morning and happy Monday!!
Did your weekend just fly??  Geez, ours did...so much going here, that I can honestly say, I missed my weekend. Well it will be here again before you know it!!  :)
Today, I want to share a little something I made using Everyday Greetings, by Inspired by Stamping.
While I was putting away my clutter a few days ago, this sentiment really grabbed my attention.  I the midst of all that is going on here, I felt the need to make something to raise my spirits a bit.
The frame was a shiny red color and I repainted it to this flat with color.  Of course, it took about 4 coats!!
My background paper is from Kaisercraft and the die is from Spellbinders.  I stamped the sentiment on cream, colored cardstock, then added the square pearls.  The wooden embellishments were an after thought; however, I think it looks rather cute.  The center are enamel gel.

While the project is rather simple, I think the sentiment is very powerful.

{IBS} Best Wishes

Morning my sweet friends.
Thank you for stopping by today!!!  Today I am sharing a card I made using Inspired by Stamping stamp.
This is my ABSOLUTE favorite stamp set.  I love them all, but my mind keeps coming up with so many ideas for this set!  So here is another one of those ideas!!  hehe
Today I am using Spring Lilacs stamp set.
I love the texture on this card.  I colored the Lilac stamp using my distress markers.  I selected the lightest colors first, them I spritzed the image with a little water.  Once it dried, I used my distress ink pads and stamped the stamp again, using the darker colors this time.  I spritzed again and stamped on top of the first image.  The hardest part about playing with watercolors is the waiting.  LOL!!!

The final step to coloring the lilacs is to add a very light color and wet brush to fill in the flowers.  I did this, just so it wouldn't wash out and the lines would still be visible!
After all that play with water, I embossed the image with a very textured embossing folder, added a little bit of distress ink and TAH-DAH!! :)  Create the frame and added the dimensional pearls for a very glam look.
I also used the new stamp: Petite Banners and Fancy Labels 3

{FTH} Go team, USA!!!

Hello and good morning!
I can not believe how quickly this week is going!!
I know this is a bit of old news, but did you happen to see the Soccer game on Sunday?
The last 20 seconds of that game were incredibly intense and unforeseen!!
Well USA is still in it and we will see how the game against Germany goes tomorrow!! :)
So being in the spirit of these Soccer games, I made a very red, white and blue card.

I went through my Silhouette files and found that I had a Soccer ball cut and I went from there.
My image is part of the Birdbrain Football Fanatics set.  This stamp set has three different birdbrain images and since my theme was not Football, I used just the one holding the banner.  :)
After I finished photographing my card, I started second guessing the colors on the banner. I wanted to change it, but hubby said  it was fine!!!  What do you think.
The found this "USA" prong brad in my stash the other day and thought it was a perfect embellishment.

Well hope you enjoyed my card today and remember that there is still plenty of time to enter our weekly sketch challenge.  You can get all the details HERE

Have a great week and I will see you soon!!

{S.S.} #212: When I Grow Up....

Good morning folks...
I am double posting today!!!  Shame on me, but I promise you will not mind!!  :)
I am sharing my card that I created for this weeks challenge at Sentimental Sundays.
This weeks theme is:
When I GROW up....
Yes, this is very cool fire truck!!  :)  I made this card for my very good friend's, who's fiance just graduated from the Fire Academy!!  We are all very excited and proud of him.  So I thought it would be fun to create this for him!!
I cut out the left window..Can you see the colored image peeking through the vellum?
The only way to capture this shot, was to lay the card flat so that you could see the image.

Here is the cute image inside the card.  Isn't he adorable!?!?!?
We are being sponsored this week by Polkadoodles Digi and his name is Fireman Jim
I colored this guy with my Copic markers and did some fussy cutting.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamps, can't think of the kit right off the top of my head.

So I hope you will come by and join us this week.

{SS} #175: Summer

Morning sweeties!
Happy Summer!!!
Today at SweetStamps, our theme this week is:
SUMMER
I am using the new and adorable Suntan Bear stamp set. I am really loving these new cuties!!!  I did some fun paper piecing and fussy cutting.  Love the bright and summer colors, which are from Echo Park: Summer Days.  Very appropriate, don't ya think!!  :)
Colored the image with Copic makers, which I am still learning how to use them.  I've had them for awhile, but I am learning to do coloring outside of my comfort zone.  Trying new techniques.  My little bear was colored using small flicking strokes.  It's taking a lot of practice, but I think I am getting the hang of it ok.   Love the fuzzy look! :)

{IBS} Complete Gift Idea

Good morning and happy Friday!
Calypso here with you today, to share a complete gift giving idea.  I created this entire set I am about to share with you, using just one stamp set.  Yes, just ONE!!!
For my project today I used Spring Lilacs stamp set and Spring Lilacs paper pad.
I love creating unique gifts to give loved ones and friends. I know I am going to have a hard time parting with this one!!  :)
The gift bag has been stamped with Versamark embossing ink using the pretty scroll in the set.
Take a closer look at the tissue paper.  I used the scripted stamp and Antique Linen to stamp on the tissue paper. Since I love the Spring Lilacs paper so much and have lots of bits and pieces from previous projects.   The banner was created using the new Fancy Labels 3 die set and inked the edges with Walnut Distress ink.

I LOVE this tag!!  :)  I stamped the bird ob transparency paper and embossed in gold embossing powder.  Once it cooled I trimmed it out and laid it between two heavy books, just so it would uncurl.  I then created a nest out of my personal stash.  I have two Lady Gouldians, so the supply was readily available! :) I added to pearls, to make them look like eggs.

The frame is the final idea and my favorite.  Again, using only scraps of the Spring Lilacs paper I had handy, coloring all the edges with distress ink, before adhering to the frame with Mod Podge paste.I then decorated the inner lip of the frame with pearls, which were individually put into place.

So I hope you have enjoyed my project today.

{SS} Monthly Technique Challenge: Painter's Tape

Good morning!!
Are you ready for SweetStamps Monthly Technique Challenge?
This months challenge is:
Painter's Tape Technique
This is SUPER easy and it is so much fun to do!! If you do not have the Painter's Blue Tape, you can also you regular masking tape as well; which is what I used.
I cut three strips of tape, that were longer than my piece of white cardstock.
I took my SweetStamps Ink Spots and rubbed them on the sticky side of the masking tape.  I went light and heavy on some spots.  You will never get the same look each time and that is the beauty of this technique.  Decide where you want to lay your tape on the paper.  Then lightly rubbed the backside of the tape, making sure to stay away from the edges.  If you do, you will get a harsh line fro the edge of the tape.  Once I laid all three colors, I then stamped my main image onto the colored background.

Black & White, plus One Other

Good morning and happy Thursday!!
A really quick post today, to share a card I made that fit a few challenges on the board.
Many of you don't know, but I am a HUGE TGF fan and collector!!!  LOL
I LOVE their stamps, but sadly I do not bring them out as often as I should.
I am going to change that though!!  I promised to create a card twice a month, using my beloved collection!!!

Today I using, Flirty Anya, which I have colored with my Copics and little bit of color pencils.
I love this monochromatic look, with the pop of color.
My sister's birthday is coming up in a few weeks, so she be mailed out in just a few days time.
I did some fussy cutting and added dimensional tape to the back.
That pretty banner is from Cheery Lynn Designs, which I just received last week.
A girl can never have enough dies, right?!?!
