{IBS} GDT: JUGS #230-Sketch

****For my Scribbles Designs project, please click HERE***

Good morning-
It's rather wet and extremely windy here today!!  We were without power for several hours yesterday too.  As much as I welcome the rain, I just don't like the minor interruptions it causes.

So I am extremely thrilled to announce that I am a guest designer at "Just Us Girls" challenge blog, for the month of March!!!  It is an absolute honor, to be working alongside these incredibly talented ladies.  A HUGE hello to my DT sisters Vicki and Nancy!!! ;)

This weeks challenge at "Just Us  Girls" is a sketch and this is my interpretation:
I am using my favorite stamp from Inspired by Stamping: Guitars and Just Because Sentiments
to create this masculine card!!  The paper id from Kaisercraft: Attitude, which I found it to be very fitting both in theme and color.  The stars are SC wood veneers, which I dazzled with platinum glitter glue.   Just enough dazzle to not take anything away from the masculine feel of the card.

Here is this weeks sketch and I really hope that you will join me and the rest of the team this week.
Looking forward to seeing your creation.

I would share this card in the following challenges:

{IBS} Canvas Coin Purse

Good morning!!
Well I have been busy getting my DT assignments for the month of February done, because March is even busier and more EXCITING!!!  :)

So I have been learning to sew!!  Sewing on card does not count!!  That is easy!!!
My hubby and I were at the store and I saw these beautiful coin purses.  I picked one up to examine it and the first thing out of my hubby's mouth was, "You can make one even better than that!!"  I love that man..He has more confidence in my abilities, than I have for myself.   So with the image in my head and the idea brewing, we went straight the craft store.  With canvas and a zipper in hand, I was eager to get started!!  After 5 attempted disasters and 4 days of frustration, this is my final product.

So what do you think!!!???  Be gentle please, as I am really proud of my first Coin Purse!!
I used my Inspired by Stamping stamp set to bring life  and color to the purse.
For the top of the purse I used Scallop Border Crochet Trim and Rose Seam Binding
I used Spring Lilacs on my purse today.   I stamped the script and the one sparrow using Stazon: Timber Brown.  The colored is also stamped with Stazon:Timber Brown, but on Fabric Transfer paper.  I stamped the paper with the image and the ironed it onto my canvas.  Once it cooled, I removed the backing.  Then I colored the image using my Copic Markers.

Here is the back of the coin purse.
So what do you think!?!?  You like?!

Before, I leave you today I want to remind you that Joanna has blog candy !!

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you all are having a great week.

{SS} #158: Your favorite Color(s)

Good morning sweeties!
Today, I am sharing a project piece I made for  SweetStamps.
This weeks theme is:
Your Favorite Color(s)
My favorite color combinations are: purple, yellow and green!
With Spring in the air, I knew the color combination would be perfect for the season.
I stamped the silhouette in fortune teller ink and decorated the edges  with flourished, flowers and gems.  The beautiful paper is from Kaisercraft and it compliments the image beautifully.

{S.S.} Challenge 195: Hello friend!

Good morning everyone!!
Happy Sunday to all!!!  Geez, I hope that the beautiful weather we've been havin is a sign of warmer weather and Springtime is finally here/approaching!!  YEAH!!!!

Today,  at Sentimental Sundays we have a fun challenge for you to partake in this week.
We are being sponsored by Oak Pond Creations and I decided to use Hibiscus from her collection.

This was a little challenging for me.  I had a plan, but just wasn't coming together the way I had it imagined, UNTIL...  I saw my Sam's post yesterday.  Sam is one of my DT teammies on another DT I am on and she has a very sweet and clean style. Check out her card HERE
After seeing her amazing card...I had a new plan in mind and went for it!!
I love it!!!  I love that it's so bold and saturated with color and pops right out of the card!!
As Sam did in her sample, I printed the didgital image on a smaller scale onto textured cardstock.
I decided not to color my background, because I wanted the focal to be the bold hibiscus.
I also used flowe soft for a little bit of added interest.

{IBS} I Love You Because...

Good morning-
Today, I wanted to share a card I made for my hubby.  He is my ultimate  "EVERYTHING" and with our busy scheldules, I like to remind him how much we love him and are so very grateful for everything he does for us.  I pulled the more muted colors from the Spring Lilacs paper pad, to work with and although I added the butterflies and bits of glitter, I think it passes as a great card for a loved one.
02212014
I used the base sentiment from I Love You Because stamp set.
And if  wait...that's not all!!!  Check out the insde of the card....
02212014i
I used a sentiment again from the I Love You Because stamp set and placed it on top of the Fancy Labels 2

I would liek to share this card in the folowing challenge:

I am really awaiting the arrival of Spring and Summer.
I'm ready to start seeing my flowers bloom and get the vegetable garden going again!!
So with flowers on the mind, I turned through the pages of my SweetStamps flower collection.
Today, I am using Spring Blooms ATC, which I have colored with color pencils.

I brightened up the picture and took a close up of the image!!
I hope you will join us this week.  Can't wait to see what you come up with.

{IBS} Happy Birthday

Good morning again!!
Today I am sharing a card using my FAVORITE stamp from IBS!!! (Pirates
Don't get me wrong, they are ALL my favorites, but I have created some pretty awesome boy/masculine cards with this set and I happy to see it be this weeks Blog Candy giveaway too!!  I already had a card in the works for my post today, but I had to change it all up last minute when I found out that it was Joanna's sons birthday this weekend.  Happy Birthday!!!  So in his honor, I made a birthday card just for him.
02172014
To create the shaker helm,  cut out about 10 pieces of the helm and layers 7 of them together.  Lay your piece of acetate (transparency) sheet and then the 3 remaining sets. Stamp the image on patterned paper and make marks on the paper and make placement marks, so you apply the adhesive, you know exactly where the patterned paper goes.  Reason  why I layer my cardstock instead of using dimensional tape?  I find that when I use the dimensional tape, I tend to leave gaps, which allow the beads to escape.  Layering the cardstock may be a little more work; however, the results are well worth it.  After the assemble, I sponged distress ink around the entire helm and randomly stamped the rope border image from Background Basics IV.
02172014a
Here is close up of the shaker card.  I also used the flag from the Pirates set and stamped it muslin fabric, cut it out and wrapped around a toothpick!!  :)
Stamps: Pirates and Background Basics IV

{SS} Monthly Technique: Fun Folds

Good morning-
It's the 15th again...Time seems to be flying lately!!
So today and the rest of the month, SweetStamps is challenging you to try a new technique!!
This month's theme is:
Fun Folds
For my card today, I made a stretch card!!!  OMG...was this so much fun to make!!
It's the first time I have ever attempted such a card and really love it!!!
It has been really cold here lately and I wanted to do something very bright and springy feeling.
I love the way this card displays the patterned paper.  The paper is by Doodlebud Designs called Springtime!!  And those butterflies are all SweetsStamps, SweetCut dies.
Even though I made this card into a Birthday card today, can you see all the beautiful possibilities for this type of card!?!?!  They are seriously endless!!!  :)

{SS} #156: Love

Good morning sweeties!
How is everyone doing today!?!?!
I have to tell you that I am a bit better than I was, this time last week.
I am still going through the healing process and still taking antibiotics, but overall I am doing a lot better.
Today, I am sharing a project piece I made for  SweetStamps.
This weeks theme is:
LOVE
A few weeks ago, I was ins inpired by one of my talented DT sister:  Angie created a beautiful  Monogram Necklace on SweetStamps sister site Globecraft and Piccolo Blog, which can be found HERE.   I love how she stamped the image onto the hot embossing powder and the entire look of her necklace.  So last week, I gave it a go myself.  I used the heart shape form the Assorted Charm Shapes pack.  I applied Embossing Powder Adhesive to the piccolo and dust the charm with Mermaid Tears Embossing Powder, shook off the excess and heat embossed it.  I did this 3 times.  On the 4th time, I applied the embossing adhesive to Apple Blossom Branch  stamp and set it aside.  I also open the jar of Mardi Gras Embossing Powder.  I started the heat embossing process on the 4th layer.  While it's still hot I added  sprinkles of Mardi Gras Embossing Powder in random spots and kept heat embossing.  Every quickly, I took the Apple Blossom Branch stamp and stamped the charm, while the embossing powder was still hot.  I left the stamp sitting in the embossing powder til it cooled completely.  Once I removed the stamp, I was left with a very deep impression of the Apple Blossom Branch stamp I used!!  (Sorry, I forgot to take a photo)
Although I loved the detail of the impression the way it way.  I decided to take it one step further.
In just the impressions I filled in this space with Glastique Finishing Glaze and added crystal gems to the centers of he flowers.  I did not even attempt to speed up the drying process on this, since I did not want to ruin it by adding more heat.  So be patient and let it dry over night!!!  The results are well worth the wait!!!
My hubby saw it and thought it was real metal!!!  I told him no babe it's faux metal!!!  LOL
So this will be given as a gift to my little sister who loves handmade jewelry!!!
